Kebijakan Teknologi Reproduksi dengan Bantuan di Indonesia

Artikel ini membahas isu etis dan teologis dari praktik in vitro fertilization (IVF) dalam konteks Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No. 2 Tahun 2025 tentang Kesehatan Reproduksi. Teknologi ini banyak digunakan, termasuk oleh umat Kristen, tetapi menimbulkan pertanyaan moral, khususnya terkait status embrio, penyimpanan embrio beku, dan pemusnahannya. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu analisis normatif-komparatif, artikel ini menganalisis isi permenkes itu dari perspektif teologi Kristen, serta membandingkannya dengan kebijakan di Jerman yang menekankan perlindungan embrio. Diskusi teologis mencakup tiga pendekatan terhadap status moral embrio: nonpersonal, prapersonal, dan personal. Artikel ini menekankan pandangan personal yang menyatakan bahwa kehidupan manusia dimulai sejak pembuahan. Artinya, sejak awal embrio sudah merupakan gambar dan rupa Allah (Imago Dei) dan harus diperlakukan secara bermartabat. Artikel ini mengusulkan sikap etis bagi umat Kristen, yakni: menghasilkan embrio sesuai kebutuhan, menghindari penyimpanan embrio beku, menolak pemusnahan embrio, dan memaknai anak sebagai buah kasih dalam pernikahan. Tulisan ini diharapkan menjadi panduan etis-teologis bagi gereja untuk merespons teknologi IVF secara kontekstual dan bertanggung jawab.
