Kritik terhadap Etika Lingkungan

Di tengah konteks kerusakan lingkungan, perdebatan mengenai definisi dan konsep etika lingkungan seakan tidak menemui jalan akhir. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menilai dampak etika lingkungan terhadap kerusakan lingkungan. Melalui metode library research dengan pendekatan narrative review, penulis menemukan bahwa kerusakan lingkungan tidak hanya berasal dari etika buruk seseorang, namun juga berasal dari faktor lain, yakni kapitalisme global. Kapitalisme, sebagai cara produksi dan konsumsi, adalah aktor utama kerusakan lingkungan. Hal ini tidak berarti perilaku merusak yang dilakukan manusia tidak perlu dikutuk secara moral, namun yang perlu dihindari adalah kecenderungan moralisme, yakni menganggap persoalan lingkungan hanya dapat diselesaikan dengan menghasilkan gagasan etika lingkungan yang bersahabat dengan seluruh alam.
